Bring the whole family along to meet Adam and Alastair from the Government of Jersey’s Biosecurity team! They are hosting an informal, hands-on drop-in session all about invasive species in Jersey and the Be Plant Wise initiative.
This is a fantastic, interactive opportunity for both gardeners and budding young nature enthusiasts to get up close and personal with invasive species in Jersey. The team will be on hand to explain what invasive species are, how they reached Jersey, and why we need to keep a close eye on them, plus tips on how to prevent garden plants from escaping into the wild or what to do if you spot an Asian hornet.
Join Adam and Alastair under our outside plant canopy on Thursday, 25th June for these informal drop-in sessions. You are welcome to pop by at any point during the day, with the first session running from 09:00 to 12:00 and the second session from 13:00 to 16:00.
There is no need to book, so feel free to join whenever suits!
Make a day of it! The Ransoms Kids Nature Trail runs every single day the Garden Centre is open, making it the perfect activity to pair with your visit to the Biosecurity team. Let the kids test their new detective skills on the trail after meeting the experts! Trail forms can be collected from our information desk.
